Motorbike Trailer

So your looking for a motorbike trailer. When people search for motorbike trailer they are usually looking for one of two things:

1. The type of trailer which can transport motorbikes.
2. The specific type of motorbike trailer that are attached to the motorbike like a normal trailer is attached to a car.

Lets start off with the motorbike transporting motorbike trailer. These types of trailers can come in several sizes and variations depending on your need. Motorbike trailers are most commonly made of galvanized steel and can usually hold between 2 to 3 motorbikes. Variations to look out for are:

Weight:
This will vary depending on capacity but the average 2 motorbike trailer is roughly 750kg. Ensure your motor vehicle can handle the load.

Flooring:
Hollow, mesh or full. This is down to personal preference but full flooring adds more protection for your motorbike during transport.

Tyres:
Are they new and does the motorbike trailer come with spares.

Removable Ramp:
This feature should be standard but you should make sure your motorbike trailer has it as sometimes this feature can be flogged as a (necessary) option.

Brakes:
Usually the normal factory-fitted brakes are sufficient but if the laden weight of the motorbike trailer exceeds 750kg it would be prudent to have mechanical disc brakes fitted.

Other things to consider are if the motorbike trailer has jerry can holders, comes with a toolbox, has mudguards, taillights are fitted to meet Australian Road Safety rules, pin count on trailer plug, utilises a swing up jockey wheel and fitted tie down points.
